ZUII Organic Review

I just received a lovely selection of Zuii Organic Products from makeup products, to skin & body care.
Zuii is an Australian Organic Makeup and Skincare Brand with very clean and gentle ingredients.

All their products are inspired by flowers and have a luxurious floral scent to them, stemming from their all-natural organic flower extracts, blossoms and oils.

I really enjoyed the Certified Organic Flora Gradual Tan Face Water.
Which just gives a radiant sunkissed glow and leaves my skin very soft and hydrated. It’s enriched with anti-ageing ingredients and might just become a staple in my routine, for whenever my face doesn’t get enough sun. It’s perfect for an evening out the skin especially if you don’t want to wear makeup daily

The Certified Organic Flora Moisturising Body Wash has a lovely green and floral scent and is as the name suggests: Very moisturising.
My sensitive skin was very happy with it.
Bamboo extract is also rich in many essential compounds, like amino acids and flavonoids, which are packed with antioxidants that protect skin from oxidative stress. ... The bamboo extract helps strengthen that barrier and protect and restore your skin's resilience. It’s great for all skin types and can also help to prevent and heal acne.

The Certified Organic Flor Lux Lipstick has just about become my favourite new everyday colour…maybe it arrived just in time to land in my personal makeup bag…which makes me think that I should add a few of these to my pro-kit. I tried their lipsticks a few years back and didn’t really like them that much, they didn’t last and were quite shimmery, but these new ones are the bomb! Absolute pro-quality and very luxurious.

Its a highly-pigmented more matte/satin finish, that lasts and doesn’t budge. I have been wearing the colour “Grace” a very blue-based, purple-ish Rose colour if I had to describe it. It has some vibrancy and is the perfect punch of colour. The taste and scent are quite floral and strong as in all their products but I didn’t mind it.

Certified Organic Flora Eyeshadow Quad Palette

A big thumbs up! I received the shade “Havanah” a metallic palette with shimmery pinks and rosegold tones all of which just make my eyes POP so much. These will go in my pro kit asap, but I also want to keep a palette for myself.

Although, let’s be real…when do I ever wear eyeshadow?

Which brings me to the mascara, I have stopped wearing mascara a few years back, I don’t enjoy the removal at the end of the day and as I usually like to wear rich oils and dewy foundations I end up with panda eyes pretty quickly. Yet, I am always on the hunt for the best natural mascaras for my clients and my pro-kit.

I wore this one yesterday ALL day and it actually didn’t budge. It was natural looking and very black. Most importantly it didn’t irritate my eyes at all. I highly recommend this as a daily mascara to everyone.

PS it's VEGAN, YAY! (not many toxin-free mascaras are vegan, as most of the natural ones contain beeswax!
And most vegan mascaras, are not toxin-free but rather chemical-laden.
So I am super excited about this great vegan mascara.

Last but not least: The Certified Organic Flora Lux Finishing Powder. A super-luxe product that i recommend for sensitive skins and everyone looking for an ultra-fine setting powder. Infused with real rose petals and flower extracts, this powder smells delicious and luxurious and will never produce a cake face. You simply, gently layer it on to set your foundation. A very unique product with beautiful ingredients.

Thank you Zuii Organic for making such wonderful, ethical products. A few will land in my pro-kit and some will be a staple in my personal beauty bag!

Trying Happy Skin - My skin on Cloud 9

IMAGE.JPG

Happy Skin, sounds lovely, right? Isn't that what we are all after.

My skin is happy most of the time. A good diet and overall health & happiness contribute to that. But to keep my skin happy it's important to use toxin-free, natural skincare.

An Australian brand I have been keen on trying is Happy Skincare.

They just send me their Cloud 9 Deep Cleansing Balm & Raindrops On Roses Hydrating Toner.
Both products have a great, clean ingredient list. Both contain MSM which is a form of sulphur, naturally derived from Algae which has multiple benefits to the skin, including brightening and clearing acne.

The cool part is that the Cloud 9 Cleansing Balm is not a one trick pony.
You can also use the Cloud 9 Deep Cleansing Balm as a

  • Hair treatment to tame the frizz
  • Cuticle treatment for sexy nails and
  • Foot balm so your tootsies always look good in a pair of heels
  • Barrier cream when you're out battling the elements (perfect for snow season and winter cycling)

The cleansing balm is a great makeup remover and smells fresh.
You can use it with water as a cleansing milk or as classic balm cleanser by massaging the product onto dry skin and then removing it with a damp cloth.
The packaging is no fuss and great for travel. Nothing luxurious, no glass but practical.

The Hydrating Mist is a lovely rose water-based product. Great for refreshing makeup or skin during the day but also as part of your skincare regime. Ahhhhh! So refreshing.

I really love their Dilo Oil too, which I have featured previously. It's a super healer!

Happy Skin creates lovely no-fuss products with clean ingredients.

All certified vegan, cruelty-free and with mostly organic ingredients.
My verdict: Definitely worth a try!

Summer skin needs extra hydration & protection.
Soothing, cooling & replenishing natural products are where it's at!
Here are my faves:

Healing, Cooling & Soothing

For the face:
Soothe Me Balm
By Edible Beauty is in a cooling Aloe Vera & Cucumber base, more like a gel texture. It heals sunburn or stressed skin in record time. It also helps to prevent congestion & breakouts and keeps the skin hydrated and clear. ( I also use the baby version for Faye all the time on little scratches or rashes, highly recommended!!!)
Soothe Me Balm is my Summer go-to face treatment.
Note: My skin gets a little oilier in Summer in the warm & humid weather.

Antioxidant Hydrating Gel
One that husband Dave has been testing and really liked is USPA Antioxidant Hydrating Gel Aloe&Green Tea. Extra hydrating and lightweight, it's great for Summer skin and also really amazing on men. It's cooling and apparently really nice after shaving according to husband.
Vegan, cruelty-free and in cool unisex packaging this has been his favourite summer moisturiser.
It does contain phenoxyethanol as the preservative, which isn't my favourite, so it loses a point there, but otherwise a really great product.

For dry and troubled skin conditions:
Max&Me Sweet Serenity Rescue Balm
This one is another winner for summer, it can heal and treat almost all skin troubles, from bites, irritation to inflamed acne conditions, the little magical pot can cure them all.
It's designed to be used as a treatment only and should be used on its own and not in combination with any cosmetics. Best to be used daily until your skin is healed.
This product contains propolis and is therefore not vegan.

For the Body:
CV SKinlabs Rescue+Relief Spray

This is a miracle worker, which belongs into every bathroom cabinet. It's an advanced therapy for burned, wounded and irritated skin. Hypoallergenic, free of toxins it's the best treatment for truly inflamed skin conditions, even if they are too tender to touch. That's why it's so handy that it comes in a spray bottle. It's also recommended for cancer patients, radiation exposure, sunburn, laser treatments or burns caused by chemicals or household appliances.
Faye recently got a heat rash, as we had scorching temperatures here in Sydney and I used this also on her to soothe, cool and relieve the itch, it worked a treat.
It's also amazing to soothe skin after shaving.
It's a milk-like emulsion that instantly works and absorbs into the skin. It's fantastic as an after-sun treatment!  (vegan)

As usual, I use the gentle and hydrating Biologika Shower Gel, which prevents my skin from drying out!
If I feel fancy I use my Erin's Faces Monoii Body Wash & Lotion, which smells of Summer! It's also very hydrating and gentle. It's also nice to replace m pure coconut oil with Monoi Oil ever so often for the heavenly smell.
Isn't Monoi just the best smell ever? I have always loved it and it makes me feel like I am on a tropical island, just being a mermaid all day...you know what I mean?

THE super summer body hydrator has been P'ure Papayacare Papaya Renew Cream.
I was given one to review and completely underestimated this! The ingredients are great, it's vegan & cruelty-free but mostly it's SO lightweight, but so intensely hydrating & repairing.
It totally fixed my overly dry and cracked (sorry TMI) poor little summer feet.
They get terribly dry from sandal wearing, beach and the many very long walks I am doing but this really helped. And I tried a lot. It smells lovely and sinks in very quickly!

So there you have it my after-sun Summer skin remedies!

Gold Rush Eye Balm - No words...

IMG_6858.JPG

So...if you were to ask me about my fave eye-cream there are a few that come to my mind.

100% Pure does a great coffee bean eye-cream, then there is this special Eye Love coffee eye serum by Raaw In A Jar both which are AMAZEBALLS for dark circles and puffiness. (and of course, they are vegan, toxin-free and cruelty-free)

But my all-around favourite eye cream of the year (and the winner of my non-existing very own beauty award) is Edible Beauty's Gold Rush Eye Balm!
It just does it all. Everything you would want in an eye cream, there you have it!
Hydration, dark circles, lines & wrinkles...this one tackles them all.
It looks pretty too. Now, just remember to only use a very small amount and always dab, not rub it into the skin. The gold flakes will actually melt into the skin and won't be visible after application.

This review is written by a slightly sleep deprived working young Mama!
Who else would you trust about eye-cream? Also: I have to admit that I have been slack with using eye-treatments since Faye was born...until I saw myself in recent photos...
I used to use this one and then somehow, it was just one of the things that I forgot about during pregnancy.
Well, my skin has improved a lot very quickly with this, so I would def recommend it!
