Crystal Castle & Summer Days Around Byron

This is the last post from our Byron Babymoon Road Trip.

It made all the difference to escape during that busy time of year, I had really booked in a little too much work beforehand and was really looking forward to some time to actually enjoy and focus on this pregnancy.

I was really keen on visiting the Crystal Castle, but to be perfectly honest, it wasn't quite what I had expected. The crystals were amazing and there were beautifully laid out gardens but maybe it was just a little bit too crowded this time of year to feel the serenity. Or maybe it was just a little bit too hot that day for my big pregnant belly, I was schlepping myself around a little. I am still glad we went and saw all these beautiful ginormous crystals.
We did have a great time and a lot of fun taking photos!

All the walking around got us hungry and we stopped off at the hinterlands best Japanese lunch spot, Doma Cafe in Federal, that everyone kept raving about. While we had to queue and wait a looooong time for our food, it was worth the wait. The food was absolutely delicious and the whole place was super cute. Basic, minimal & Japanese, but with a lot of outdoor area and great atmosphere. We decided that Japan is on top of our travel list (it has been for a while) and our first overseas trip with baby, will probably be to Japan!

On the way home, we came past a waterhole and got to cool down in the nice fresh water!
Just what my belly & I needed!
